Dạng câu hỏi “Would” Questions muốn hỏi ý kiến liệu bạn có muốn làm một việc gì đó trong tương lai hay không, và đây là dạng câu hỏi cũng thường xuất hiện trong IELTS Speaking Part 1.
Đối với dạng câu hỏi này, một trong những yếu tố quan trọng là Grammar. Một trong những cấu trúc cơ bản thường được áp dụng đó là Câu điều kiện loại 2.
Câu điều kiện loại 2 thường có dạng như sau: If + past simple, would / could / might + infinitive verb
Có các hướng mà bạn có thể áp dụng để “xử đẹp” dạng “Would’ Questions
Cách 1: Sử dụng Positive sentence
“Would you like to move to another city in the future?”
=> “I would like to change cities if I had the chance.” Or “If I had the chance I would like to move to another city.”
- Câu trả cho câu hỏi trên cụ thể như sau “I would like to change cities if I had the chance, because if I lived in a different city I would make lots of new friends and I could try lots of new kinds of food. Also I might be able to find a well-paid job”.
Cách 2: Sử dụng Negative sentence
1. Phủ định một cách trực tiếp:
“Would you like to move to another city?”
=> “No I wouldn’t like to move to another city, because if I lived in another city I wouldn’t have any friends.
2. Đôi khi, chúng ta có thể bắt đầu câu trả lời bằng cách “I never thought about it” (Tôi chưa bao giờ nghĩ về vấn đề này). Đây là một cách mà các native-speakers hay sử dụng.
Một số cấu trúc ta có thể sử dụng để nói về một vấn đề chưa từng nghĩ tới/không chắc chắn.

- I’m not really sure how to put this, but I suppose generally speaking…
=> Cụ thể như sau: “Would you like to move to another city?”
“Actually, this isn’t something that I’ve ever considered, but in short I suppose I would possibly consider moving cities, especially if I had the chance to move to a coastal city like Xiamen or Sanya. If I lived in a seaside city I would be able to hang out on the beach every day and I would also have the opportunity to get into water sports like scuba-diving and possibly surfing.”
